I'm "watching" the game on ESPN Gamecast, and when it mentioned "R. Bowen" coming in to play catcher for San Diego, I started getting the shakes. Is this normal?
I like listening to him announce basketball, especially when Calvin was there with him. That said, he was a horrible baseball announcer. He would point out the most mundane things and act like they were major revelations. It used to drive me nuts.
am i the only one here who thinks borkowski should be getting an expanded role? he locates and he really sinks the ball...more often than not hes very good (i know he mopping up usually, but id like to see what he could do)
WHo would have guessed we would end up winning the game 7-1, when williams had a no hitter through 4.
excellent win. keep it up boys. looks like they decided to flip the switch. we shouldnt be surprised if they go on tear...besides the mets and maybe st.louis this is easily the best team in the NL if they play the way they are capable of playing. Go astros!!!!!
Every time Luke Scott hits the ball he mashes it..... I am sad to see Burke on the bench, I wish we could get Burke, Scott, Ensberg, Huff, Lamb, Biggio & Berkman all in the game at the same time. DD
Do ya'll think we'll see a Berkman/Huff/Scott outfield when Lance comes back? It'd be the best option offensively (w/Lamb at first) but horrible defensively.
No, I have posted it a 1,000 times Borkowski has done no wrong this yr..He is justba valuable asset sitting on the bench...
You mean the guy who hits into more DPs than Ausmus? That Preston? He becomes a valuable player off the bench. But Luke, I mean he is KILLING the ball....I watched him do that all year at RR, and knew he was ready......not .400 ready...but still..... DD
I don't think there's any chance of that, for two reasons: in that lineup there's no center fielder, and they want to keep Lance as stationary as possible. I'm 99% sure we'll continue to see Taveras and Burke out in center with Huff, Scott, and Wilson rotating at the corners. Don't disagree with you that the lineup with Lamb would be scary offensively, but I'm pretty sure he'll be the odd man out when all are healthy - and that'll be a nice boost to our bench, anyway.
Albers pitching against fellow Lamar alum Clay Hensley, and the retro uniforms. I know it's a day game, but I think I might be catching a cold.
This is the good !!! The bad.....there are SEVEN teams ahead of us........just got to keep winning. DD
