The old Astros Cameron would have made a spectacular over the fence catch on Lambs Jack...No..No..Someone woke the guys up.....They all have fire in their eyes and don't forget about Backe....Hes pitched a great game...WOOHOO !!!!!!!
the one other time this year it was Burke and Berkman off of Contreras at the White Sox. (yeah where was that in game 1)
Backe now has retired 11 straight! I'm sooooo happy he's back. He's one of my favorite stros because of his fire. he's always so pumped up.
well williams' jersey numerb (17) was drawn on the back of the mound...im guessin that padres do that for every starting pitcher....so backe decidied to draw a 41 on the back of the mound for his number...but then the next inning williams crossed it out
5-1 lead after 7 and backe is rolling....reminds me of sunday afternoon with Rocket.... brandon has only thrown 86 pitches. gotta leave him in there. springer in the 9th (to stay sharp)
luke scott is just swinging the bat very very well. preston is the odd man out when lance gets back tommorow(hopefully) then preston gets a RBI single right as i post

"[Garner] pretty much told me he's not going to play me until Arizona," Berkman said. That means the earliest he will return is Friday, at which time he will have missed six games because of his left groin strain. Garner doubts Berkman will have to go on the disabled list, but the skipper has no regrets about taking the overly precautious route with his star slugger. "He feels an intense desire to want to play at this point in time," Garner said. "But he really can't. If he blows it out, we're toast. We're not necessarily toast, but you certainly want your best hitter available down the stretch. If we have to lose him for seven games or five games, we'll have to lose it. It's better than 50." "I've been in there at least two times telling him I can do it, but he won't let me," Berkman said. "I understand it. I can appreciate it. The player is obviously always going to want to play. Sometimes it's the trainer and manager's job to make a more level-headed decision. I feel like if I can be out there, I should be out there. I feel like I can right now. We'll just have to go with what they decide." Berkman will be available to pinch-hit for the remainder of the Padres series.
