lol. nice try buddy. you meant never. now it's clear that you left yourself that out so you could say "duh, well, it's CLOSE to never", because you obviously knew that you were guessing out of your ass in the first place. i haven't bothered looking, but i'll guarantee you the answer is greater than one too. but it doesn't matter if the answer is 10. 10 times out of the couple hundred coaches in the past 20 years is "close to never", right? you're wrong and you are making a fool of yourself now. get over it.
you can't be serious, can you? you think teams take nothing into consideration other than the pitchers ERA 12 starts into the season?
Actually it *does* matter how often it happened. Because the original quote that started this was you, stating: there's no doubt in my mind that 90% of the other teams in baseball would have fired cooper right now. i wish mclane would sell the team to somebody who understands baseball. One known instance in 20 years does not in any way support the idea that 90% of other teams in baseball would do such a thing. The reason I said "close to never" is exactly that - I have no idea how often it happens, but its not very much. 90% of teams in this situation certainly do not fire their managers. There are first year managers every year, and plenty preside over sucky teams or prove to be terrible managers. Just look at the last 5 years. Your argument is that 90% of the time a team is in that situation, they would fire their manager. So where's the evidence?
