There were talks about this? I would be all IN on this but 1.) Why would they willing to trade him, and 2.) They'd ask for the entire farm.
The Braves put out feelers... and the Astros were rumored to be involved... but then immediately pulled a 180 and said he wasn't available (after hearing of severe fan backlash). Will be interesting to see which markets do and don't allow for a full emulation of the Astros strategy... right now, I just see Tampa, Miami, and Oakland being the most willing markets. Atlanta seemed like it would be as well, but then again they are moving out to the suburbs in large part to cater to the majority of their season ticket base.

Yeah - if that's really what he's looking for, he should be an Astro. Getting a new RP while losing your best reliever doesn't really improve the pen all that much overall.
Ideally, what would it take to land Andrew Miller? I don't mind giving up a top 5 prospect, with two other top 10-20 prospects. He's controllable and consistent.
Looking at it again... I'm sure Luhnow is using the Chapman deal as a starting point due to Miller being controlled till 2019.
I'm not a hardcore baseball fan, so take my words with the grain of salt that they are: My understanding is that the Astros are buyers with a ton of money to spend, yet I don't see any spending going on. What was the point of the years with a comically low payroll if they weren't going to spend when the team was ready to compete?
Stop listening to the johnny-come-latelys that only pay attention to the offseason. (Specifically, the marquee names; they couldn't name a second-tier free agent to save their lives.) The Astros will spend money - but they'll do so smartly, with an eye toward building long-term success.

I am gonna take a swing here and predict that Valbuena will be moved by the end of the week. Final year of club control and don't think Luhnow has any interest in keeping him beyond '16.
Will someone explain to me why the Astros are looking for another starter? Seems like we have more than enough to go with on the roster already. K,McHugh,McC,Fiers,Feldman,VV etc.
Most teams use about 10 starters in a season due to injury or spontaneous suckage. Astros likely trying to trade Feldman and replace him with a guy that is a lot better. VV will still be used as either relief or start in minors until someone gets hurt or doesn't pitch well enough to keep VV in minors.
