I would think Taveras gets a major league deal from some time as a 4th or 5th outfielder. He is is still pretty fast and his defense is solid to go with his gream arm. Astros outfield is set there won't be a lot of starts for the backup unless a injury. I doubt he signs here.
maybe a 5th outfielder. He is a terrible major league hitter. He deserves a job as much as Chuck Carr did?
idk he has his moments. I still remember his what 32 game hitting streak ? He had a decent offensive year that season. But god praying Bourn can play at least as good as he did last year so we don't have to worry about him to much.
A good read ... 2010 Draft Preview – Houston Astros The Astros have 5 picks in the top 100 (8, 19, 33, 58, 90), so this could be a very important draft for the Astros future.
I think I'd rather have Willy T over Michaels or even Sullivan. At least he has speed and defense, I'm not sure what Michaels or Sullivan can bring to the table other than Sullivan's left-handed bat.
Agreed. Really, every draft year going forward is important for the Astros. They need to make scouting, drafting and development a consistent priority if they want to rebuild this thing correctly.
Last weekend I decided to take one of the ballpark tours that they offer at Minute Maid. It was great to see the park from a different point of view than the seats that I normally sit in. I know that we will probably be average this year but I still can not wait. It's almost time!
Thats sound awesome... I've always wanted to do the tour but never have... Is it expensive and How long does it take? Cant wait for the season to get here...
I've done it before, but it was years ago. 2003 or earlier. I don't recall it being that long. No idea of what it costs.
Minute Maid Park Tours I try to take the tour at least once a year. Looks like they raised the prices from 7 bucks to 9 (still way worth it). There used to be a locker room tour as well, which it does not appear is offered any more, or maybe it's more seasonal. Getting to go in the dugouts, bullpens, scoreboard, diamond level, etc. is an awesome experience.
wow, at least once a year? you don't consider it a "seen it once, seen it a thousand times" deal? seems like it would be cool to do once though.
I guarantee that standing on the field of a major league ballpark never gets old. Plus my kids love it.
