Why don't you figure those numbers up for Carlos Lee while you're at it?

damn. wish we could've gotten him (though i guess it depends on the deal he got from the Padres. wouldn't have wanted to pay much for him.)

There was really no point. He's not a class A or B free agent, so we wouldn't gain a pick if he signed elsewhere. If we want him back, we can still sign him.

Well, if we keep Loretta, then that makes Burke that much more expendable. I think he's still looking for a starting gig somewhere.

Miller, I'm not so excited about the prospects of having back. Wade has done a great job rebuilding the pen and Miller has no place in it. Hopefully, he'll sign somewhere else and we'll get the extra pick.

I don't think Miller or Loretta will accept salary arbitration. Loretta and Miller are both and the end of their careers and are looking for one last multi-year deal. I think Loretta will sign with either the Yankees, Rockies, or Angles. I think Miller will get a 2 year deal from somebody because he had a solid 2nd half and is left-handed.

Man Jason Jennings might have been one of the worst signings in Astros history. Freakin Pupura!!!!! Glad both are gone!

You have got to be kidding me. This is what you have reduced your arguing to?

Since you are being so obtuse...you may as well be accurate. You need to know what percentage of that money the club keeps and what percentage goes to the vendor.

But don't worry...at 35,000 fans per game, I'm sure they'll sell at least that much beer.

Why the fixation on beer? Why not $5 hot dogs? What is your deal?

    Signings? - Perhaps Jim Clancy

Trades? - many, many bad ones. Unless Tavares becomes Kenny Lofton or Hirsch becomes Curt Schilling, this won't compare to those.

    Thanks for the correction...yeah trade.

Remember, you might as well include Pettitte in that trade since he was thrown to the curb by Pupura and McLane. He would have been delt with correctly, he may have stayed and Jennings would have never been traded for.

    What a freakin waste.

This has been dealt with several times. Pettitte never had any intention of returning here.

A bit surprising on Miller, will be interesting to see what he does, but I'd bet he'll accept. Maybe he'll revert to '06 form.

I don't really mind if he accepts. What is the most he will get? 2.5 million for 1 year is reasonable. He had a very solid 2nd half last year.
