Nooks been saying they like Hader. They did try to acquire him at the deadline as well but not sure if they actually said it was Hader or they just assumed Padres relief pitcher = Hader. Can't remember if Nook mentioned Yariel Rodriguez but they are 1 of the teams in the mix.
Center Fielder that can Steal Bases, High Contact, Make Great Plays at Center Field. Astros Front Office need to Find A Star Player playing Center Field in the Minors on another Team to Trade for.
Very weird inclusion on Brantley. Is Mr October buttering him up to try to convince him to take a short, low-money deal?
The Astros are interested in a starting pitcher. Astros have checked in with White Sox about Cease and Kopech. Astros have checked in with A’s about Paul Blackburn and the Indians about Shane Bieber. Astros want to add a starter if possible and appear willing to consider higher and lower level starters. In free agency the names I have heard are Luis Severino, Kyle Gibson, Ryu and Maeda. During the season I heard Josh Hader is someone Crane really covets. Brent Suter is someone the Astros wanted last year.
Sorry Reggie, Michael Brantley for this year he didn't earn his Contract being Out for the Year and being Terrible against Texas.
Worst trade ever Carlos Gomez and pitcher Mike Fiers to the Houston Astros for outfielder Brett Phillips, LHP Josh Hader, outfielder Domingo Santana and RHP Adrian Houser
Today is the deadline for Rule 5 protection. My final guess is the Astros protect Tamarez, Whitcomb, Barber, and Corona. Prospects of note that would then be Rule 5 eligible are P Jairo Solis, P Austin Hansen, OF Justin Dirden, C Luke Berryhill, C CJ Stubbs, P Jaime Melendez, P Julio Robaina, P Ryan Gusto, P Blair Henley, P Valente Bellozo, P Brayan De Paula, P Cole McDonald, OF Jordan Brewer, OF Zach Daniels, and SS Cristian Gonzalez. Melendez and Robaina would be significant risks to be taken.
I would protect Melendez over Tamarez even though Melendez was out all last year. Tamarez just doesn’t do anything for me.
When talking about a great player who is Humble, Smart, a Class Act Hard to find a better example than Brantley in my opinion
And even weirder he didn't mention, you know, his front office PiC, Jeff Bagwell. Or Craig Biggio. And WTF is Earl Campbell, Reggie???!?!
