Damn... Santos has high octane stuff and under team control for a long time. Really solid add for the Mariners.
I agree that, on the field, Yelich is a perfect fit, but he is simply paid more than he is worth. 5 more years at $25M each for the 5th or 6th best position player on the team who is limited to LF?
They have to be dying to get out of that contract. Give them montero and some prospects to get them to pay most of it down.
Altuve Tucker Yordan Bregman Chas Diaz Abreu Meyers Pena I love the idea of the opposing starter having to face Altuve, Tucker and Yordan in the first inning. Stress them right away with our best 3
And also yes, it was stupid of me to put Tucker and Yordan back to back with their struggles vs LHP All the other manager would have to do is bring in the lefty and poof, inning over Since, ya know, a left hander can't hit a lefty well. That's been known since the 70s
Hell if I know. I was just thinking that if you're hitting Tucker 2nd, then maybe Bregman 3rd? I apologize, yall seem to have it all figured out.
In no world should Tucker hit before Yordan. Yordan has a career average. 390 OBP. Tucker's career high is .369. I would not be opposed to Altuve Yordan Tucker But hitting Tucker w/ Yordan behind him is just throwing away runs.
I'm not sure what world you live in, but.... Altuve is a given at leadoff, right? Tucker loves to pull the ball on the ground to that side (1B will be close to the bag, 2B will be up the middle). Altuve on base and/or moving makes things happen? Tucker can get you an extra base with his feets (if no Altuve on base), since the next guys are patient at the plate...Yordan/Bregman or Bregman/Yordan, whatever.
Tuckers percentage of getting himself into scoring position on his own is one of the best in baseball. I wouldn’t be opposed to Yordan 2nd but would prefer both Altuve and Tucker to hit in front of him I also think his obp would likely rise to a career high hitting in front of Yordan but I know you aren’t a big believer in lineup protection Biggest thing to me though is getting those three guys to the plate in the first inning, hence batting them 1-2-3. In all honesty the order of the 3 probably wouldn’t matter
