They got a mega deal coming off of their last heyday, and probably indirectly caused the whole Comcast fiasco with the Astros/Rockets who looked for a similar haul (but without the negotiating leverage). Just sucks they got a title (at the Astros' expense!) before the gravy train ran out
Local TV money is such a huge part of the pie for these clubs...and it seems to be a floundering model.
So are The Astros making any moves or not? Tired of this trash GM, should have been fired alongside Dusty and Moldy..... Worthless...
I hate how baseball creates an unfair advantage with salary. Astros were 10th in salary and repeatedly have to compete with team who outstanding them while we lose key player after key player. But I also don't get how houston can't be in the top money spenders with the economy/size of the city.
We were 10th in payroll I believe. Having said that, San Diego was 3rd and had to take out loans to meet payroll. The Angels were 6th in payroll and were...well...the Angels. Mets and Yankees were 1 and 2 in spending lol lol lol lol lol
Wait, you serious? Yankees get Soto and another rival is getting Ohtani and The Astros are somehow keeping up with a backup catcher?
Conflicting reports. Guy from ESPN says no deal has been reached yet and thinks Giants are still in it.
The Giants works for me so they can stick it to the Dodgers. I like the Blue Jays so they can give the Yankees problems. I like either outcome.
