Bryan Reynolds has requested a trade. Do Astros get into a bidding war for him or pass? Would it be better to see Yankees over pay and get him or Astros overpay while Yankees miss out? Would it be better to just go after Nimmo or other? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/bryan-reynolds-requests-trade-from-pirates.html/email Is he reliable?
Bryan Reynold requests a trade. Get on the phone Crane. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/bryan-reynolds-requests-trade-from-pirates.html
Unfortunately any deal I feel like it would start with Hunter Brown. With Verlander likely walking I say no way. Rather spend the money on Benintendi/Nimmo. We need to hang on to our best prospects if a player of need can be had in FA. Also need to be thinking about how we will pay for Bregman/Altuve in 2 years and keep some flexibility in the payroll by replacing players with cheap Minor league talent
Reynolds is a 3-4 win player with 3 years of control remaining. The package would be steep. Hunter Brown would definitely be in there. Brown, Leon, Diaz, and Whitley would be a package I think would be competitive.
Looks to have swing and miss problems, but apparently that's part of playing CF. His power looks good which compensates. 3 years of control. Lets just go for Judge. He's only money. Or Nimmo, if we need a lefty. He's only money too and less of it.
I would expect Pittsburgh to want players with 5+ years of control. Meyers might be an interesting trade chip if a team really likes him but I wouldn’t expect the Pirates to be one of them.
Reynolds and Suwinski for Garcia and McCormick is about even. Both are lefty Outfielders, so we can finally have a lefty PH.
Because they like the pitching staff we have and are looking to add another bat or 2. If Verlander walks, it's at least a conversation worth having
I’m not a huge Reynolds fan but if a deal makes sense then go for it. I find it unlikely without a GM. I think we’d have to sweeten the pot a bit but this in interesting: My guess is that PIT would require Javier, and if not, Brown…and I don’t love either being headlined for Reynolds, but such is the cost for solidifying CF. I guess I’m just a tad hopeful that we can wait it out until Leon/Gilbert take over.
I like Reynolds, but as a LF not CF. Unfortunately the Astros would have to pay like he is CF and also outbid other teams. Still if it's ONLY prospects and does not include Brown I'm ok with almost any deal
