You don't know how happy I was when I found out that they were putting a video board on the third base side. I use to always sit in right field with my dad and it was such a pain to have to turn around to see the video board.
A nightmare? That sounds like a great dream! Minus one tub of lard, minus his huge contract, plus one useful AAAA relief pitcher.
Today feels like new life has been pumped into my world... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bb/7429279.html
I really feel like this team might have a shot at making the playoffs. We have the rotation to contend and now the defense as well with Barmes in the infield, and hopefully Lee not in LF as much. Wandy/Myers/Happ is a nice front three and should be above average. Offensivley I hope the younger players progress, the addition of Bill Hall should help, Carlos Lee is due for a better year as he had a career worst. Team somewhat reminds me of the Padres from last year (although they didn't make the playoffs) in that we are rebuilding and have some uknown talent that could come on strong for us. Either way i'm ready to watch a team besides the Rockets/Texans.
I won't get my hopes up but I do think this team will surprise a lot of folks. Again, when I say surprise I mean maybe 82-80 and they could cause some NL Central rivals major headaches come August/September. The rotation has a chance to be good and if Abad, Norris and Happ have good to great years then we might have something.
[/apologies_for_off_topic]your sig is great. tried to rep you just for that, but I must already repped you recently. there *were* Rockets before Yao and MeMac, and I can't *wait* to see what the Rockets build now that the "Broken Ming Dynasty" appears to have mercifully ended.
It's just good to have a big league ballclub in town, even one that's not very good. Not expecting much record wise this year, but at least the team is finally, and firmly, in rebuilding mode, so there is a reason to watch. Looking forward to seeing how many of the prospects we're throwing out actually develop.
He came into Spring Training last season with a lot more bulk as well, and yeah it does look like he's added even more muscle, but it's hard to say for sure...
Pence, yes he should be sufficient to lead our Astros! Let us all remember the past, but let's all grasp the future! My time of mourning is over. Pitchers and catchers have reported, position players are reporting. The grass is growing and baseball is in the air. I for one will meet this season with ardency. Hunter Pence will lead the way and I will follow with passion! Play Ball!
please don't start 0-8 or even 0-3. thanks. so, we start the season @ philly? umm...maybe i should be hoping we score a run in those first three games? maybe them showing up early will mean they are prepared? go stros!
