After some research, Garcia was 61 and Guillen 87 on ba top 100. so more like paulino, Fisher and brady rodgers.

I'm hoping that Luhnow trades for Duffy. Who has ace stuff and will cost less. Then if a trade needs to be made at the deadline for another Ace you make it. (If your in contention.)

Something else I would look at is what it would take to trade for both Gray/Doolittle. I would give up alot if they could somehow get both of those guys. Something like 4.Paulino/5. Fisher/6. Cameron/9. Perez/11. Davis/18. Rodgers

If the Nats are willing to offer Giolito, Robles, Ross, and Lopez, there is really no way Houston can beat that (nor should they).

I think Houston matches up better with the Rays. Personally I think Archer has more value than Sale anyway.

That sounds like the door is completely closed if Bregman is off the table. Wouldn't have guessed that.

For now, I can believe it. It doesn't mean things can't and won't be revisited at the deadline.

    @Ken_Rosenthal

Sources: Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals. Robles, Giolito would go to #WhiteSox. Teams haggling over final pieces in deal.

Both are currently ranked in the top 10 prospects in all of baseball by MLB.com. They have Giolito with a 65 grade and Robles with a 60 grade. Reality is Houston just doesn't have prospects with comparable value to those 2. Martes and Tucker are their best but are aren't really even close to Giolito/Robles. Honestly I'd probably say you'd have to have either McCullers or Bregman as the headliner with either Martes or Tucker as the secondary piece to get close to what Washington is reportedly sending to Chicago (and I imagine they will be sending more than just those 2 prospects).

McCullers and Tucker would probably be the closest.

The upside to this is that it may set the ceiling for Archer's price and mean a package built around Martes and Tucker could be enough. And I'd be satisfied with that.

Tampa has needs at catcher, LF/DH, and in the bullpen. So maybe Martes, K Tucker, Feliz, P Tucker, and Stassi for Archer? May seem like a lot, but keep in mind Archer comes with 5 years of control, and PTucker and Stassi don't have much value at this point.

I'd want Feliz replaced with a lesser arm or someone who's further from contributing at a similar expected production level. Otherwise I'd be ok with this. Not jumping for joy, though.

For all of Archer's potential, he had a 4 ERA last year (3.8 FIP), a 4 FIP and xFIP in 2013 (granted, rookie year), and a 3.70 xFIP in 2014. I only bring those years up because it gives some credence to what happened last year vs. just calling it a blip. And puts him consistently FAR behind a guy like Sale. Archer has upside and control, but that's very different from a "sure thing ace" like Sale when you're putting together a roster to go for it all and emptying your best chips for a pitcher.

Tampa Bay gets: K. Tucker, Martes, Gattis, Perez
    Houston gets: Chris Archer

Doesn't seem like a bad deal at all for the nationals...

The Astros were never going to deal Bregman for 3 years of Sale.

No... that isn't comparable. Bregman is light years ahead of either prospect.

I wouldn't do that deal. Archer isn't an ace right now. I wouldn't throw in Feliz and would really need my scouts to convince me that Martes isn't as good as he looks.

    This.

Lucas G is hard to evaluate because he was an elite prospect but had a bad season this year and doubts have crept up over his former "sure thing" status.

Robles is very young and similar to Tucker, although slightly more heralded. I personally am not a huge fan of his game. A lot of physical tools but not developed.

I suspect the Nationals may have to throw in Soto and maybe another player or two that aren't top 100 prospects but could be as they move up, similar to Abreu from the Astros.
