Could get very ugly if we lose tomorrow. 4-9 with weekend games against the hottest team in the league with the best hitter in baseball supported by Lilly, Kershaw and Billingsley. Even better, Weiland and Happ will pitch the first 2 games of the series. 4-12 incoming?
They haven't looked like that at all. They've lost these games by 1 run, for the most part. They've been in all of them. But their young kids...so learning to seize a game and kill it at the major league level is going to be an acquired skill.
Almost every game they've lost the Astros were in it and had a chance to win. Losing isn't as much fun as winning, but I don't think anyone expected these guys to win the NL Pennant or anything. They surprised a lot of folks early on by winning some games, and have been fun to watch the pretty much the whole time. Tonight they need to beat the Nationals so they don't get swept in a series, and start a new win streak.
Agreed but I think they'll come around sooner rather than later...Their effort is defnitely not a 4-8 team...
Every game has been close and winnable. I'd say they look nothing like last season, though I can't argue that the end result is different. At least it's still fun right now, IMO.
Matt Downs gets the start at 3rd and will hit 6th; Marwin Gonzalez will start at shortstop and hit 8th.
doesn't matter how long you watch this game...there's always bound to be something you've never seen before.
The Astros have now scored 51 runs this season while allowing 49. They're 4-8 (hopefully 5-8 in a couple hours, but still). That pretty much sums up the luck of Houston sports these days.
our record is not an indication of play so far this year. if they keep the same level of play law of averages says it will even out. we could win 75 games this year.
Agreed. The Astros are playing fairly well. I'm just ready for said luck to start evening out... it's been a rough 10 days to be a Houston sports fan.
