I predict they keep Bolton and Burrows on 5 days rest, starting them Sunday and Monday. ( Gordon, Arrighetti, and Imai all on 5 days rest vs Rockies next week)
I should be feeling pessimistic but I am feeling optimistic. WWWL. I predict Taylor Trammell plays well. I also think we see a solid run from the rotation.
I'm not sure how much playing time he gets. Cam and Joey likely start everyday in RF and CF Joe will want all 5 infielders + Yordan to play as much as possible vs a division rival while on a 4 game losing streak. I bet Yordan plays LF at least twice. But who sits? That leaves no more than 2 starts for Trammell. I guess he could play some CF for Joey, but he's not an plus defender in CF and if he's there that means Yordan is in LF. In a perfect world, Yordan, Joey, and Cam is the starting OF all 4 games but I simply don't see them playing Yordan on the grass that much. Matthews gets splinters in his rump with all the RH pitching Seattle has.
I think Trammell is a better defensive CF than Loperfido or Matthews. Trammell has also been swinging a hot bat. I think he plays 3 of the 4 games. I could be wrong. I am very bad at these kinds of predictions.
I also may be wrong, but if I remember correctly, the Astros have avoided putting him in CF in the past.
Mariners 4-9, currently in last place. The way Astros have been playing on the road entering this 4-game series, I doubt that will still be the case on the other side, but maybe the Astros will surprise me
I like Meyers, he's a decent everyday CF but he's not that big of a loss. Really, the only player Houston has on the IL who is truly hurting them is Brown. They could not afford for their Cy Young Finalist Ace to suffer a serious injury. They went from a 93 win team to an 88 win team with that one event.
Yeah……it’s starting to look like 2025 all over again. France…..Arrighetti…..ya’ll got next, and I’m trying to convince myself that’s not necessarily a bad thing
