Been a problem since before this season. Mariners won the Luck Meter tonight. SEA pitching got majority of the calls which was conspicuously on display during Bregman's late-inning AB. First 2 pitches were balls, both called strikes. Regardless, Astros must play better. Hopefully the manager (and management) fields its best players. It will increase the chances of winning. After 36 hours, still no word on Javier's MRI -- he's probably done for the season, Urquidy too. The perfect storm for a notorious season continues. .
I am done with watching them until they pull their heads out of their asses and bench the old guys that can't hit and play the young ones that can. See ya later fellas - gonna enjoy the Texas heat - reserve the right to come back if they ever get to .500. DD
So after tonight thats SEVEN games in a row of only scoring in one inning. How on earth are they accomplishing that? I mean what are the odds? That has to be a record…..
We're talking about a team where they couldn't win a home game in 2019 WS and 2023 ALCS. If there's a will, there's a way.
Man......woke up to see we lost again, when I went to bed at least we were tied. If they are not going to put the best 9 players on the field at the same time I am not sure what the point is. Stop coddling guys like Abreau and start trying to win the friggin game at all costs. Man, this is tough to watch...........right now we suck and that's a hard pill to swallow
I don’t know how. This has been a problem for a long time. They need to learn how to move a runner over from second
Dubon should be playing every day, subbing in for Singleton, McCormick, or Bregman depending on the oppositions pitcher. Altuve should probably also be getting more frequent days off. Abreu should be released. Diaz and Caratini should be splitting 50/50 until Diaz starts to hit more. Hensley, Salazar, Cabbage, Amaya, and Kessinger should be continually swapped in the 12th/13th spots get more exposure to the big leagues (without actually playing) while getting regular playing time in AAA. Loperfido should stay in AAA to preserve his service time until an everyday role opens up or until they feel he is clearly a better option at 1B than Singleton. Bregman should not hit higher than 6th until he has at least 3 weeks of sustained production. Pressly should be swapped with Abreu in the 7th/8th inning roles. Dubin should replace Mushinski.
Three late night West Coast gut punches in a row. All three games were winnable. All three games we had for the most part outstanding pitching. We should be playing today for the division lead. Instead because of a collective lack of urgency on the part of our offense we are 6 1/2 games out going in the wrong direction. Will be interesting to see how we react in today's game and over the next few weeks. I am sure the atmosphere in the dugout is toxic. Not only because Jabreu is still around but because nobody likes to lose.. There is plenty of blame to go around. If we don't come back and take control of the division I think we will look back at how important this series was and we blew it. Major changes are coming if we have to tear it down and rebuild. Our first goal should be to get this team back to '500. I don't think we are going to lose 100 games this year but if our offense continues to perform like it has the last three games we are not going to sniff .500
Espada has not been great, in fact he's been bad and is in over his head (grade of C- to D seems fair) but you could have Connie Mack in the dugout and until pretty much this entire line up gets their heads out of their ass they're not winnning anything.....
I don't think Espada is the reason they are where they are but at some point you might consider making a change just to give a shock to the team. It worked for Philly.
