Worst loss of the season by a mile. Just crushing. Shake it off and win tomorrow so my health doesn't degrade any further.
What a choke job. I went to do some garage chores and came back to check back with a L. MLB wanted excitement, they got it.
ONE-ALL..... 7 runs surrendered in one inning vs 5 scored by the loser "Better" than a 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 game, right??? Stanek's and Montero's season ERAs are terrible. Both guys' results were awesome last season Didn't watch the game after the 7th inning, but boxscore says all the runs were earned. Perhaps bad calls by the HPU??... Stros will get healthier and have better results overall going forward.
I didn't like the overpay when it happened this offseason and still don't like it now. Fully agree with you.
I mean, look, I don't think Dusty is some brilliant tactician or manager of any kind. But he's right 1 out of every 10 times. Players do have to not suck and do their jobs.
After 2 outs and nobody on, Montero walked a batter, then a bad luck fluke check swing roller that Montero missed and then Bregman and Pena crashed into each other trying to field. Then another infield hit between short and 3rd. Peña's only play was an off balance throw ro 3rd that Bregman couldn't catch. Then Seattle started getting real hits.
All of Seattle's offense these 2 games has basically been fueled by bloops and seeing-eye ground balls.
I feel people are bemoaning the disappearance of the "dynasty" Astros, 100+ wins, dominant pitching and explosive offense. While it makes for an exciting regular season, we have seen it doesn't always translate to hoisting the trophy at the end. If this team can tread water until the end of June when presumably Altuve, Urquidy, McCullers, Brantley and Chas are all back and Abreu has improved to his median, then its just a matter of tuning up for the playoffs. This team can win from any playoff position, home-field or first round bye, whatever. Just keep the faith and watch for the improvement that is inevitably coming.
