Damn straight. That's twice tonight he hasn't let his own ****ups get in his head. Lots of pitchers do (or ump ****ups or fielder ****ups or just bad luck hits). That shows you something.
The company I've been working for since spring is in Charleston, TN. I'll probably try and find a place between Chattanooga and Charleston. That's where I've been looking. It's beautiful there but no UH games or Rockets/ Astros without a road trip. My oldest kids are staying here so I'm sure my sons and I will hit the Rockets after the new year when I come visit for a weekend.
Re: that Meyers out - I’ve been teaching my kids baseball and they asked why 90’, 60’6”, etc. As we talked through it I was amazed all over again how precisely right the base distances are. So many plays at first especially are a millisecond apart but go the “correct” way (ie a grounder results in an out). Yet the distances haven’t changed in a hundred years despite huge changes in athleticism and fielding equipment. It’s a beautiful game. it would be more beautiful with an Astros two-out hit though.
It’s too bad Javier isn’t “that” guy yet. Having him ready to go here would be ideal. Instead Raley is warming up.
