both Jones and Toro look like they can be dangerous hitter, but they can barely crack 0.220. They are too inexperienced.
I really hate how that lead runner isn't allowed to blow up the 2nd baseman anymore. Makes the dp almost automatic nowadays.
i understand the safety concerns for the players but it looked as if correa didn't even bother running hard to sliding. just stand up running.
If he's not close enough to the base there's no reason not to get out of the way. If you're close enough to cause a disruption and make the play at 1B close, you go in feet up and follow the rules. You're also protecting yourself from the throw, See: Jeff Kent hitting dude in the head with the relay from 2nd
they're going to their reliever already? even though he was giving up hits, nothing was happening lol
I would put my head down (to protect my face) and maintain my basepath. If he wants to bean me, so be it... saves an out. (I know, easy for me to say, I'm not the one getting hit). But I think the defender will step out of the way and throw to first. Not worth hitting that runner at all.
Do you bring in Stubbs to pinch run and catch the rest of the way? Or keep Castro in, since he's doing well with Greinke.
Hence this unique opportunity.... to get them experience when in any other era, they would not have gotten.
What? Are you agreeing with me or is this supposed to bolster your argument? lol at the "ugh..." btw. Sorry about that typo
