No. He wanted the no-hitter. Everyone ****ing did. Idc what he said earlier this year. It’s human nature to want to succeed.

Geez. This page is almost GARM bad. Garbage.

If he was going to purposely give up a hit, not sure why he waited until he had a 3-2 count. No way he was grooving a pitch. I’d also like to see the context of his old quote.

So...his quote came earlier this year after losing a no hitter in the seventh. Here is more of the talk after that game including words from his catcher.

“The thing with him, and it’s probably very true, is that he throws a lot of strikes,” Avila said. “When you’re in a game like that and you’re not giving up any hits, as the game goes on by trying to accomplish that you try to expand a little. You’ll see some guys get walked like that instead of a guy giving up a hit. I know I’ve seen it and done it as a catcher going into the later innings of a no-hitter that I’d rather walk a guy than give up a hit at that point.

“But with him that’s not the case. He’d rather you get a hit than give up a walk, so I’d say that’s the main reason why he hasn’t.”

    Greinke agreed with that assessment.

“I don’t really think about it that much,” Greinke told reportersof throwing a no-hitter. “I just assume I’ll never throw one. I don’t think that’s the type of game I throw. I feel like I give up a lot of hits. Maybe not as many this year as in some other years, but I feel like I give up a lot of hits.”

The first hit was on the lower inside corner and the second was low and away again on the corner. He was trying to get it.
    I'll take the win.

Astros finished the season with a 18-1 record versus the Mariners this year.

This ties the MLB record for most wins against 1 opponent. The record is now shared by the Indians who accomplished this against the Tigers few weeks ago. The Yankees almost matched this accomplishment this year (2019) with a 17-2 reward against the Orioles.

Let's not forget that the Mariners had the best start of any team in the majors this season. Then they faced the Astros, who swept them, and they were never the same after that series. So, not only did the Astros dominate the Mariners, they quite possibly broke them. A more infamous deed to tack on to all the other accolades from this season.

The Astros had three of them. Four before the A's started doing typical A's-later-in-the-season things. The Astros also get the unique distinction of whipping two teams managed by former Astros catchers. Four more games to embarrass Brad Ausmus. Get to it, boys.

Zack, you'll get one, and you'll get one as an Astro. And the team will be so happy and huggy that it'll be excruciating, and you'll love it.

No, the Mariners are a **** team, Rangers and Angels were ok until they quit. AL East had 2 **** teams from the get-go, so did the AL Central.

That dude has some problems. Nobody really knows the level of self-sabotage he might be capable of to avoid difficult situations.

Should have thrown all curveballs in the ninth. That thing is nasty. If that is what was hit, then kudos to the hitter.
