Astros on an amazing run, but what makes it really amazing is who is playing. They are beating major league teams with minor league players. Well, ex-minor league players. The young guns are on a tear.
I think Fisher and Straw's play will delay Alvarez's callup, unless he just keeps getting intentionally walked 50% of the time. Then you have to bring him up just to get at-bats. I think White and Kemp are gone one way or the other. Fisher is a much better OF than Kemp or Alvarez. Only other solution is trade involving Fisher and/or Straw. Straw will eventually have to be sent down when Correa, Altuve, and Diaz are back, unless he's still hitting in the 300's and then its bye bye Diaz.
Seattle has got to be the worst defensive team in the MLB, I mean it's almost as if EVERY ball gets by someone, infield, outfield, they can't get in front of anything.
I suspect that Alvarez will be up, when Brantley gets injured. Brantley only played 140 games last year.
I'm not sure Fisher is better than Kemp as an OF defender. Fisher has more speed, but has been worse at running routes to the ball.

That sure as hell would have been nice. Superstar, hometown kid, and way more pop at 1B. Gurriel is beginning to regress. Makes good contact (though streaky), but next to no pop, especially for a 1B. Just trade for Smoak (rental lefty 1B/DH, should just cost us some AAAA pieces), get that extra pop.
Brantley has trouble playing a full season. It is probably one of the reasons that the Astros were able to sign him to a fairly reasonable contract. Even if Brantley dodges the injury bug, the Astros may still rest him on DL with a phantom injury. It is what it is.

Isn't it amazing (and I'm NOT being sarcastic here) that a business built on providing entertainment is actually making all aspects of its product entertaining? Knowing professional sports, I continue to marvel at the everything you mentioned as well. It's actually fun to watch these guys; what a concept.
