Charlie Morton's breaking ball is yielding ... .138 BA 46.4% Whiff Rate Both rank 6th among MLB starters
Some poster said other posters needed to "apologize to Tyler White" - so I mentioned that I had been bagging on him when I saw him at the games the last few times I've been. who said I "shout" it? He is one of the players on my team and I noticed he looked fat. So it's something I decided to talk about. He is fat. That's a fact. Some of you are so damn childishly defensive of the players good grief.
He has worked on his body for at least 2-3 straight off seasons. He would likely be 250-300 lbs easily if he didn't play baseball. At this point we just have to accept that is how he is. He is a notoriously hard worker so what you see is what you get. There is a reason that he slipped so far in the draft years ago and has never been a highly ranked prospect. He cannot field, he isn't a burner on the bases, he isn't much to look at........ all he can do is hit a baseball.
So who is on our all Chubby team? I'd say 2 were above average to good, but never great. Lee and Wells. And so I think that makes a compelling argument against the chub. Now the best hitter on that little league astros team is a chub, but he can swing the bat. Some of our chubs: Kerfeld Lopez Wallace Wells Lee Fulchino Martes and then there was Amador I'm a little more interested in the hot wife theory that went in the face of moneyball. You know, just research.
Yea, sorry, I don't buy your "Tyler White is destined to be fat there's nothing more he can do about it" theory.
Updated BA with RISP ... Yuli .410 (1st in MLB) Bregman .360 (5th in MLB) Appears Alex just increased.
Man, I wish I was watching this glorious offensive production. It feels great to see it on the gamecast.
His blocking ability is worrisome. But yeah, a .700 OPS would be sufficient if he's halting opponents' run game.
A's down 4-0, we could look back to tomorrow and see the season start it's positive turnaround. No doubt that is in conjuncture with Altuve returning to the lineup.
