Didn't get any reaction shots on the Seattle feed or I missed it due to a sudden outbreak of Tourette's. As much as I absolutely love the guy, Altuve is sometimes not a smart baseball player. Young, high-energy, emotional players can be like that. Also there's the varying level of stubbornness that you get with most all exceptionally high achievers and...well, it explains why Bagwell never tried to throw left-handed.
The mental lapses were reminiscent of April. Hopefully they get back on the winning side tomorrow and take the series.
find it odd that altuve bunting is such an issue, when, after stealing, we ended up with a better outcome than if he successfully bunted marwin over. would this many people be complaining if the sac bunt was successful?
Right but the point was you don't want your best hitter bunting w a runner already in scoring position. .307 hitter w RISP... We would've been in an even better position w him swinging.
i understand that (whether i agree or not). i'm just saying i think the complaints would have been largely muted had it been a successful bunt attempt. yet we ended up in a better situation than if it had been successful.
But the point is you don't want your best hitter sacrificing a runner over, you want him driving him in. This team is notorious for leaving risp he has to be swinging there.
Ha It's baseball man 162 games There will be plenty like this and worse, even for World Series Championship teams
losing more than zero games over the course of the season because players stare and admire their fly balls (save your jokes) instead of running is inexcusable. i sure as hell hope there aren't plenty more like it.
Oh I agree players should never be lazy No excuse for that But if you think in a MLB season teams will never lose games like today, because they are "too talented" Not sure what to tell ya
