Part of me wonders if Keuchel is still tentative for tomorrow depending on the outcome of the Rangers-Angels game. There could be an incentive to saving him for a possible Monday game or for the WC game on Tuesday.

So I actually like our chances ...

Rangers 4-0 or 3-1, we likely have WC or game 163 with just 1 win against AZ (assuming Twins don't sweep KC)

Rangers 2 - Angels 2, need 1 win for game 163, 2 wins for WC

Angels 3-1 or 4-0, Sweep for div playoff, Need to win 2 for game 163

Gotta take Game 1 on Friday!!

Cant believe we have to play interleague games NOW...well hoping the Astros play for their season...3 wins and their in...rest up boys, Friday Saturday and Sunday...are gonna be ________ (what you decide).

Ill take the wild card...If the Rangers and Angels split. I'd be fine with that. Most ideal would be for the Rangers to lose 3 out of 4, but dont think that will happen.

There's no reason to pitch Keuchel any day but Friday. The next Rangers-Angels outcome won't change that.

You aren't going to get to Monday while not pitching him (at least there's no chance that will be attempted), and pitching him Friday enables him to pitch Tuesday.

my friend let it go and go to bed, on the right side. why the right side??? people who sleep on the right side get .4 more hours of sleep than the left side. I don't like the right side in this situation because I purposely wanted to stay awake.

correa for al roy. 4 homers next series, book it.

none of you guys are talking about the yanks. they look effin awful right now and are pitching CC tom and with the red sox in town you know they're going try their hardest. Yanks could have a complete collapse. you never know.

I didn't .. All of those assume the Twins don't go 4-0. If they go 4-0, 2 wins still gets us to Game 163

Good point, and Tanaka will not pitch in final 4 games.
Only bad thing here is if they go to WC game, Tanaka will pitch that game.

twins arent winning at KC this weekend. KC still fighting for top playoff spot, not too concerned about them.

So here's the thought process. If Rangers win tomorrow if lessens your chance of winning division significantly as they'd have to lose 3 in a row. In that case you have a 1 game lead in loss column. So you hold Keuchel back thinking let's see if we win tonight with McHugh and then see if the Rangers beat LAA again Saturday afternoon. If LAA loses again Saturday then you've clinched. If LAA wins Saturday afternoon you pitch LMJ and if he wins then you've clinched. Then Sunday you throw whoever, but save Keuchel for the WC game on Tuesday.

no way, you throw Keuchel out there knowing a win does you WAY more victory then possibly winning without him. Friday is a MUST WIN no matter what happens tomorrow. He can pitch on 3 days rest for Tuesday, he pitches good against new york anyways.

I'm sorry let me restate this:

Angels lose Thursday to get to 76 losses. Pitch McHugh Friday. You win. Angels lose. You now have a full 2 game lead with 2 to play. LAA plays before you Saturday. If they lose again then you've clinched over them and possibly over the Twins at this point. There would be no reason to pitch Keuchel until the WC game Tuesday.

I agree you'd use him on 3 days rest in that scenario. I do think tho there is a chance he gets pushed back if nearing game time Friday Texas is beating the Angels after having beat them Thursday.

If the Angels win tomorrow then yeah no reason to try to save Keuchel.

The Rangers would have to lose at least 3 regardless, obviously.

This also doesn't factor in the Yankees, as the other guys brought up. Too many moving parts. Keuchel has to pitch Friday. Gotta worry about winning our games first and foremost, and Keuchel keeping the momentum going is big.

Correct, K dominates lefties, and Yanks have a lot of leties in the lineup:
    Gardner, Ellsbury, McCann, Bird, Gregorius

Would require Angels losing 3 in a row and Minnie losing the next 2 but you are right that it is possible.
