He's actually better off not throwing his breaking ball for strikes... needs to have the late break that dives out of the zone, but appears to be a strike and induces a swing (the Brad Lidge good-slider).
Lance is going to be so nasty next season. For a rookie he's right on track even despite some of the struggles in early innings.
Somebody needs to get Ash some glasses.... I can't believe he was a catcher for 17 years. Did he think every hard hit ball to the OF was a HR then too?
I figure if they hit one solo HR off Elias every other inning, it will be good enough to get a good lead... and won't be bad enough of a pitching performance for the Mariners to go to the bullpen. That's the strategy.
