you know how crazy it is that we could make the playoffs? we weren't even supposed to be .500 this year. ill be happy just to get these young guys experience...
Let's get back at it tomorrow. Tonight just wasn't our night. Those first few defensive miscues set the tone for the evening, but Keuchel on the bump tomorrow should help propel us to victory and an eventual rubber match on Sunday.
I have to disagree. This team was suppose to play .500 or better this year because we played very good at the end last year and we could see all the young talent coming to Houston. Now, i do agre that few expected the Astros to make the playoffs, and right now that is a strong possibility.
Yea if we ever have to face a guy like Felix we are doomed Wait, what In all seriousness, this was a total rebuild and it's not complete, obviously still some work to do as was the plan all along. And really, knowing that no one will ever have a lineup full of Tony Gwynns and Carlos Correas, the power lineup would probably give us a better chance against an ace than most lineups. No one is "likely " to string a bunch of hits against a true ace over and over, but get a guy on and hit a bomb could do it We need to add a front line starter, first and foremost
altuve's and lowerie infielding skills wouldn't have allowed those mistakes. but it's baseball; ithappens. score should be 2-2 with us in the 15th extra inning looking for a hit. Lance didn't have his A game but that defense didn't help him out. =( I fell asleep right after Lance was pulled. Getting too old for this sh...American league schedule.
At SS, yes marwin is better but marwin doesn't look like marwin in his 8 games that he has played 2b. and that's why i said it's baseball errors happen. =/ ay dios mio. it's like you can't even say something positive about altuve like his almost .99 fielding percentage. we're in danger of heading the way of the garm and texans forum, if we're not already there.
You said "Altuve and Lowrie's fielding skills would not have allowed those mistakes". I simply responded a truth that Gonzales is a historically better defender than Altuve and Lowrie. I did not rag on Altuve's defense. If you don't want folks to discuss your posts and offer their own insight, then quit posting. Also had those mistakes not happened, we don't know what would have happened the rest of the game. Had Gonzalez made the play, the next 3 guys might have hit home runs. You can't assume that everything would have happened exactly the same way had an event not occurred.
Seems like Marwin has always done well when playing a couple of games a week, but the more he plays he struggles No numbers to back that up but sure seems that way
Sounders are playing next door this afternoon. Traffic/parking/everything would be a mess if they were going at the same time. Not that things haven't intersected before...but I think ideally they want to keep events split up
