It is hard to judge, and there are definitely differing views on how to handle it. Again gave my opinion. Just looked up Kershaw's last two starts. 4/19 7 IP up to 4-2 97 pitches and pulled. Why? He couldn't have gone one more inning? I mean he "only" threw 97 pitches. 4/25 7 IP up 2-1 90 pitches and pulled. Again why? He couldn't give them another inning having thrown only 90 pitches. Maybe....just maybe...the Dodgers have bigger goals than letting their three time CY Young award winner get a complete game in APRIL!!!
McCullers is a full bloom ace if he can throw that change up like that. Curve isn't on today. Throw the change. Nasty.
