We need a number 3 type of pitcher than can go 6-7 innings regularly. I think we will have some major kinks in our bullpen if we keep overworking them. I think it is much more important than another bat, although that would be great. Getting Alvarez back and Walker warming up will be a major upgrade to our lineup. I fully expect Pena to keep it up, and Diaz to wake up. I think we have a really good shot this year if we get another starter than regularly eat innnings with a decent ERA.

I agree that an innings eating SP would be great for this team.

But I think you have an unrealistic idea of what that is. This is not 1984. KC lead all MLB teams last year and their starters averaged 5.62 innings per start.

A guy who consistently gets you into the 6th inning is the guy you are asking for in 2025.
