That franchise, man. They had the best regular season record of all time only to flame out in playoffs. Cursed.
Absolutely. That was a really good team too. They probably didn’t have a meaningful game the last 3 months of the season. Sometimes that kills a team in the playoffs.
I’ll say this…I disagreed with @The Beard that we would run away with the division but if they lose this series against the Angels I might be eating my words. Just looked and didn’t realize how difficult their upcoming schedule was through the ASB. Outside of 3 games against PIT in July, they have zero “bad teams” on their schedule. Obviously we’ve been known to **** off some series against bad teams but our schedule over the same stretch is very soft.
He’s been really good since returning from injury. His statcast page is bright red too - a bunch of bad luck earlier this season. xBA of .281 and xSLG of .601.
Plus Julio Rodriguez just hurt his ankle today. He had to leave the game and was having trouble walking after. Hopefully nothing serious.
I didn't realize his contract is for another 6 years for $37 million each year. Trout is just so odd. I know people say he is just loyal and wants to win, but if he that he was true he should totally have done his last contract differently to have more leverage over the Angels fielding a better team. He just tried to maximize his money with no more leverage over what the Angels do.
