How you figure that? (guess you're counting the 1/2 game back on NYY) Given that the postseason doesn't start today and all.
Wildcard watch 40-24 Orioles (7-3 5th) 38-28 Yankees 37-29 Astros 36-30 Blue Jays (1-4 4th) 35-31 Angels (vs Mariners @3:07)
Lack of starting pitching will prevent us from having a deep playoff run but the lack of offense and Dusty’s willingness to more or less concede regular season games may prevent us from making the playoffs entirely.
I was looking at the wrong standings. I guess we would barely squeak by as the last WC team. Blue-Jays right behind us and have the season tie-break. They'll overtake us for that last WC spot after this loss though.
... you might wanna take a look at that 2018 lineup again. I would die to have anything similar to that now. . We have so many holes
That's ridiculous. Dusty already having abandoned the idea of Pena in the 2 hole after scoriing 60 runs over a 10 game stretch should worry you. This dumbass manager will ensure we finish in the bottom 3rd of MLB in runs scored. That's ultimately problematic. FYI, we scored 0 runs today. Again.
Dusty and the team collectively could have just saved everybody the trouble and flew back to Houston after the game last night.
Correct not sure why anyone would compare this team to 2018. I compare this team to 2020, where we struggled to even make the playoffs, had an anemic offense, counted on pitchers we never heard of to get us through. Barely.
They were a M*A*S*H unit in the postseason: Altuve, LMJ, Correa, Springer, Devenski, etc were all banged up.
He hasn’t abandoned the idea. It was his idea to begin with against his GM’s recommendations. they’re going to need more pitching regardless.
