I agree Yuli has been bad but I have never seen more people b**** about a 68 win team in early August like yall. These are called the dog days for a reason.
Was it Chicago that sang…. “LOOK AWAY, BABY LOOK AWAY” everyone here loves this team. did you know that Yuli, as a starting 1st baseman has 29 rbi’s? It’s Aug 4th.
Yes and I agree that Yuli is bad and Dusty is stubborn but living and dying on every ab in August is bad for everyone
Giving Dusty the benefit of the doubt, sticking with tried and trued vets through tough times (and just after the trade deadline) can engender their loyalty and boost team morale. OTOH, Click is probably going to have to stage a lineup intervention with Dusty.
Because of Yuli's past success, tenure, recent success, etc. Dusty is probably trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Come playoffs though, if Yuli isn't at the level the team needs him to be, management may have to step in and force the issue with the lineups if Dusty insist on him still being the everyday first baseman. It appears Mancini in the OF is a concern with the team.
Nuance isn’t your friend is it? The conversation was about why Yuli was starting TODAY, not the rest of the season. He’s been a good player since batting in the 2 spot. Mancini is insurance. In the very real possibility that Yuli sucks the rest of the season Mancini should get most of the starts. If that doesn’t happen I’ll be glad to b**** at Dusty with you.
I don't know why I'm frustrated, I knew when Mancini homered yesterday we'd probably never see him again. Same with an experienced, World series winning .250 catcher
