Wow. I purchased MLB. But Apple gets to preempt it. ESPN gets to preempt it. Oakland gets to preempt it, and not just black it out for their home games either. Peacock gets to preempt it. How many more are coming? It isn't quite true, but it feels like they sold me an expensive-to-me subscription, and then sold ten percent portions of my paid-for subscription three or four different places, and new ones keep cropping up. Guess I'm complaining to the wrong people . . .call it commiserating if you're kind.
I wish I could purchase Astros games over the internet without needing a cable or cable like subscription that includes other things.
At least not in the OF in Cleveland. I see him playing I'd like to see: 1B: Yuli 70%, Trey 30% LF: Chas 30%, Diaz 30%, Alvarez 20%, Trey 20%- but only MMP games. DH: Alvarez 80%, Trey 20% Trey plays 70% of games.
Bottom line is Cleveland has a big OF I can understand not wanting Trey or Alvarez to play there. If Alvarez was sitting, you all would squawk about that. That leaves Yuli or Trey at 1B. Yuli is hot now and .500 career against Plesac even if small sample. It's one game. If Trey does not play 7 of the next 10 games - THEN get upset.
I don’t have a problem with the lineup. Diaz and Gurriel have been hot so you ride that while you can. Maldonado will continue to catch for Verlander so nothing to see there. I get that we want to see the new toys but I’d hold the anger for when he doesn’t play them in a more obvious situation.
I'm fine with this lineup for the reasons mentioned, but they better score some freaking runs with this group. And if they go cold, I expect to see Mancini and Vasquez pinch hitting before the 9th inning. No excuse to lose a 2-1 or 3-2 games and those guys not getting at bats.
This is why me and thousands of others just illegally stream everything. Give the people what they want which is not 1,000 stupid channels of garbage just so they can watch sports. Cable and dish will eventually be nothing but internet companies. My kids generation will look at Direct TV and Dish Network the way I look at 8 track tapes.
Well Verlander’s pitching so that removes starting Vazquez. You could replace Diaz, Gurriel, or Alvarez with Mancini however… Diaz is batting .302 with a .909 ops over his last 15. Gurriel is batting .327 with .817 ops over his last 15. Yordon is Yordon. I guess you could go Chas in center with Diaz and Mancini in the corners but ouch defensively. This isn’t the ballpark you want to experiment with that lineup either. I’m no regular season Dusty fan. If he started Mancini great, but not starting him over one of those three isn’t exactly a call for outrage. Mancini was brought in as insurance on a number of guys particularly another regression by Yuli. Yuli is hot, so there’s no need to flat out give his job away yet.
If you are right that he isn’t playing because the OF is big, they aren’t bringing in the fences the next three days
Astros are finishing up 19 games in 18 days without an off day this weekend. Expect key players to be rested every game this series.
