I am saying at least look at the first pitch sometimes. Mostly talking about Altuve and Gomez, they have been swinging at more than half the first pitches on this road trip.
Another couple of hits here... and they'll be in position to take out Bumgarner.... regardless of the number of pitches he has.
I know it's easier said than done but if batters don't swing at that ball in the dirt every single time Bumgarner doesn't have but a few K's
These are all the outcomes of an Evan Gattis plate appearance that I have witnessed this season: - Strike out horrendously on a 57-foot breaking ball low and away - Triple - Swing at the first pitch to become the final out of an inning (usually done with runners on) - Inning-ending double play - Swing ferociously, only to ground out meekly - 450-foot home run
Well, who exactly did you want them to get? Also, just because the Brewers (and their now fired GM) agreed to a trade for those guys means very little to other teams and other deals. Luhnow made it known that they had a menu of several players available to all teams... its not like they went around specfically shopping "that" package to all possible trade partners.
Right-handed batting Conger is pretty useless... I'd support the reverse platoon amongst the catchers.
And he also wouldn't be a World Series MVP and Cy Young candidate Lot of discussion on how to approach facing him, reality is when he is on its a really really tough task
He goes up the middle and to RF more than you would think. He looks like the kind of caveman that would just try and pull everything, but sometimes he does show an actual oppo field approach. Why he doesn't do it more often, I dunno. http://www.fangraphs.com/spraycharts.aspx?playerid=11003&position=C/OF&type=battedball
