Ashby always talks about how Carter is swinging the bat well. Problem is, all he seems to hit is air.

Not the best lineup against a lefty that pitches good vs righties.

Don't understand putting Gattis in the outfield to stick Carter in the lineup. Makes me nervous with him out there.

predictable complaints about gattis on a ball that's likely a double with others out there too

That's not the reason--Gattis doesn't play 1B. Gattis is in the OF to get Gattis in the lineup. Whether that's smart or not, I don't know...but I'm ok with giving him a shot at working out of his slump.

Good point. Rather see Tucker in there though.

I'm not trying to be rude, but it's Rodon.

I would like to see RAsmus in LF and Marwin on first for this pitcher.
Gattis has no business playing in LF unless he was really hot with the bat, and he is not, he should be on the bench.

To add to the confusion, the other Chicago team has a guy named Rondon (Hector).

He of the 5.00 ERA? He who, aside from a string of 4 straight great starts (2 of which came against Houston, coincidentally), has looked very up-and-down / mediocre so far?

I agree he looks like he'll be good longterm. But he hasn't done it yet by any means. Doesn't have me wishing at this point

i always wish Shane Reynolds would've turned around and swung lefty, even if it exposed his pitching arm. Bumgarner does it and really boosts their lineup relative to other pitchers. Makes opposing pitchers work a lot more
