Gattis and Carter hits combining for a run against a top 10 pitcher on the road, who would've thought?
The Gattis we wanted was a guy with and average of .248 instead of .238, an OBP .295 instead of .269 and a slugging of .475 instead of .436. I think the one that really matter the most is the slugging, for him is way too low. Well, we saw Gattis on LF on that last play, and after the screw up, comes the walk.
I'm glad Gattis is okay but that pretty much sums up this road trip ! Come home Stros I sure miss the wins
"I don't know what kind of grip Hank Conger just had, but it wasn't a good one." "That's the best changeup we've seen tonight." (SF announcers talking about Conger's throw)
I don't think he could break an egg if he threw it against a wall. Of course, it would bounce twice before it got there.
Is Johnny Miller still calling games for them? I miss him on sunday night baseball... do not miss Joe Morgan.
Twins beat the RAngers. Indians beat the Yankees, now Blue Jays only .5 game out? That division is going to be Canadian
Ben Revere would've been a solid addition at a fraction of the cost. GMs may differ on Phillips/Santana/Hader, but 1 is a blue chip prospect and the other have clear upsides. Interesting sidenote: Kris Bryant has swung and missed 307 times this year. Most in MLB. That's 4 less than Revere has in his entire (six year) career, 311. Revere is having a solid season. He looks like a piece we need in our lineup. Is he better than Gomez? Nope. Of course not. I just think a 2 slot of .298/.334 is better suited for our offense. But yes, not a lot of high profile bats were on the move this year. Especially for the balance our offense needs. So it is hard to scoff all that much at the move.
