Corporan and Powell are pretty much the same player. I wonder why they called up Corporan over Powell. Powell did get the AAA all-star game nod.

Yeah I wondered the same thing. I heard that Powell was dealing with some injuries as of late? But Powell seems like a better hitter. His BB:K is waaay better than Corporan as well as his OBP.

I realize that the Astros bullpen this year is not exactly the Lidge-Dotel-Wagner bullpen of yesteryear, but I cannot for the life of me understand why Fernando Rodriguez continues to get thrown out there game after game after game. No pitcher with an ERA over 6.00 should have 39 appearances just over halfway through the season.

Powell is injured and hasn't played in 10 days.

We had 3 pitchers with era's over 6.00 in 26 appearances or more. The bullpen is a disaster. I think this falls on the FO to not make a change. Mills has to use F. Rod if he's in the pen.

Yeah, you're right. I realized that the bullpen was bad, but I guess I hadn't realized that F. Rod's numbers weren't necessarily an outlier when compared to the rest of the group. I guess I've all but tuned out the stats they show on pitchers when they come in from the bullpen.

I think if we had even league average relief pitchers at this point we wouldn't be 0/8 in extra inning games. F. Rod/Carpenter/Cruz all have no business pitching for us this season and I'm very surprised moves haven't been made.

A big problem is that Luhnow doesn't want to carry more relievers on the 40-man roster. Doing the common sense moves like calling up Storey, Zeid, Stoffel or Chapman would all require 40-man roster changes.
