At least I have total confidence that he'll mash the ball from the left side of the plate by the end of this season... but he'll always be what he is right-handed (high average, high OBP, low low low slugging).

Wow. 5 exclamation points? That is pretty mad.

The answer you're looking for is "because you don't ph for the catcher in the 6th inning of a 1 run game."

I hate to not watch the rest of the game. But I've off for some Zzzz's.

Hopefully no one will get hurt and need EMS.

i was going to post this after sampson got out of the inning, but stupid bloop single. anyways his composure is awesome. even with the bases loaded he looked like he couldn't give a f#$k.

he doesn't have oswalt's stuff but he possibly has his stone cold balls.

Agreed. Sampson's a very solid back of the rotation guy. Now if we can Woody to start pitching like a $6m pitcher, we'll be in good shape.

I can't really fault him too much on the Bonds play (I've seen him do worse)... he instinctively attempted to field the ball (and given our pitcher's collective fielding prowress, it wasn't a bad choice), and Sampson rushed the return throw before anybody was even at the bag. Also, Lance can't assume Biggio is at the bag waiting for that throw... he's already running towards it as soon as he sees Sampson field the ball.

As for going home on a tailor-made 3-6-3 DP ball... that ended up being the wrong decision.

Bull****, Nick, Lance ****ed up. He gets burned roaming off the bag with regularity.

No, you don't, unless you're carrying 3 catchers.

i wasn't thinking back of the rotation. it's unfair to project him as a #2 starter or possibly even a # 3 but since he's been an astros that's basically what he's been. and a good one too.

Lowry pretty much did the same thing to us tonight that he did his last start.... except that he didn't hang a fat changeup to Hunter Pence.

Yeah, watching sloppy baseball does that.

But, if you can't throw out 40-y.o. ****** with 2 bad knees running from 2nd base, you got problems.
