you know what they say, strikeouts are psssh and besides that they're capitalist.
oops that's the ozzie guillen version of durham's quote.

I lost count at around 13 ground balls:p

17, wow. Not one swing and miss by a Dodger from what they just said. That's a first I've seen.

Lowrie has been showing some good power at the plate. Not too shabby batting average either. I wonder if its too much of a stretch for him to have
20-25 HRs and around 85-90 RBIs.

A little bit of a stretch. The most home runs he's hit as a pro was 13 in 2007. Lowrie's absolute power ceiling may be 15-18 home runs. He could probably hit at least 35 doubles, though.

Was shocked to find that Justin Maxwell's diving catch didn't make Sportcenter's top 10. It was a great catch.

I really like how competitive Lucas is. Always yelling and encouraging his teammates on great plays (Maxwell's diving catch and when we got out of the bases loaded jam in the 8th)

Last year he had 6 HRs in 309 ABs. This year he already has 7 in 140 ABs. If he can hit around 20 HRs a year thats pretty darn good for the SS position. As a matter of fact considering the doubles he has been getting and the decent BA, he might be the most offensively productive SS the Astros have had in years.:)

Holy crap, what a great win!

Tight strikezone last night. That was frustrating to watch.

    Go Astros!

I know the results were good...but man it frustrates me sometimes seeing Brad Mills use 5 pitchers in one inning. Especially like in the 8th when the game was really hanging in the balance. Everytime it goes to commercial while another pitchers comes in to warm up ratchets up the stress a little more.

Yeah..and I wasn't particuarly thrilled with the decision to attempt to bunt Altuve late in the game with runners on first and second and no one out. Ultimately, he struck out...but I just don't like that decision given what Altuve was doing at the plate and his speed to beat out a potential double play.

All That Matters is we won. Who would have thought this time in the year, we would be one game under .500. Amazing, The Future looks bright

    No question there.

I'm guessing if I had set the O/U at 4 games out by 5/26/2012, most of you would have had the over...me, included! :) The Astros are 3 games off the lead...and 2.5 out of second place. That's remarkable on the heels of a 106 loss season.

When is the last time an Astros shortstop hit at least 20 home runs?

    Dickie Thon 83'?

Anytime the Astros beat this Dodgers team, that's a plus. To get that win vs. Kershaw is amazing. Great game by the Astros. I loved it. I was fired up by the game that I couldn't sleep until I spent some time unwinding. It was a great win.

No idea man! not in my memory. I didn't start following the Astros until the 92 season. I don't recall any having SS hitting 20 HRs.
OK as per Astros website the most HR ever by an Astros short stop is 20 by Dickie Thon 83'. Interestingly the most HR ever by a 2B is listed as Craig Biggio 22 in 95' and 97'. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, didn't Jeff Kent hit like 26 or 27 on 04'?

    Yeah. 27 in '04.

It would be pretty sweet if lowrie broke the record. What a magnificent trade!

Its possible. Man I hope we are seeing our middle infield tandem with Lowrie and Altuve for years to come. Lowrie was definitely a bargain comparing all we gave up for him was a borderline closer/ solid reliever. Dont forget they also got Weiland in the deal as well. He did not look too bad in the short time that he played, I think he has potential to be a solid 3rd or 4th starter. Yep the Astros definitely fleeced the red stockings on that deal.
