    Brice ain’t being traded anywhere

He is one of Browns guys, his 1st 1st and we lack hitting prospects

    Exactly.

His plug and play of any and all relievers like he's been emboldened to do more and more often is cool and all but that's not something we want to get accustomed to doing. There's a formula, stick to it.

I was texting my out-of-town buddies during that 9th inning last night and when the bases were loaded, I sarcastically texted "well, a strikeout and a double play will end the game...."

    That's ridiculous.

Please get back injured players, Joe thinks he can trot out just anybody and still win.

We are 4-7 in our last 11 games.

Ok Whitcomb, time for you to hit a grand slam in the 9th down 3-0. And Ort you're gonna close it out after getting out of a bases loaded jam in which you walked 3 straight batters on 12 pitches.

    Am I doing this right?

Smith clearly needs a break and a reset. I don’t see the need to sit Altuve the same day. Some guys need rest days get over it.

1st let me say that the team is OBVIOUSLY producing over their heads with Espada at the helm

But DAMN. Altuve and Cam both just had 4 days off

Are you in the clubhouse? Do you know what advice the manager is getting? He is a rookie that they may need to help get back on track. Maybe they spotted something. It’s a long season.

Hopefully his hand isn't worse than the Stros are telling us.

    LMAO

No I haven't been in that clubhouse in a few years actually

But we are allowed to give out opinions here on this board, I mean that's kind of what these kind of boards are about

He hasn't been great lately but he does have hits in 3 of our last 4 games by the way

Brice just going to have to hit a couple more bombs. No worries.

In all seriousness I hope Altuve’s hand/finger is okay.

Pretty sure you've complained about the lineup in 101 games this season and they are 59-42 in those. So far, Joe's been right a lot more than you about their ability to win.

This lineup is why we need to go get another bat or two. I understand we just had a break and don’t necessarily agree with giving them both the day off today. That said, I also don’t want to have to play Altuve and Walker every day down the stretch because of the situation with everyone out.

    Yea if Altuve is injured

I mean at some point when we replace really good players with random guys who really aren't thought of as MLB players, those players are going to not produce...I think

Yeah, it’s like our black magic is being fueled by sacrificing players. Eventually it’s going to run out though.

There is an easy way around this - there was with Pena as well and Valdez too.

The Astros could make a compelling offer to Matthews now if they are that confident in him

The same was true with Pena, Altuve told the front office and owner that Pena was getting close to breaking out, and that they should extend him. They eventually tried, but it was days too late......... Valdez badly wanted an extension with the Astros, he wanted one for literally years, and the Astros did not do it.

I know they made strong efforts with Correa and Tucker - but part of getting guys extended it knowing who to focus on and who isn't going to sign.
