He will be a good defensive outfielder once he works on his routes. The best hope is he plays second where he has excellent range and a high upside. He needs to work on his footwork and focus when he makes his throws. Right now he sometimes gets caught napping or out of sorts with his feet. These are things he should be able to fix and he has high defensive upside because of the range and arm. I will say though - my one question about him is why is he so raw after so many years of high level ball and good coaching. That makes me wonder.
He was a really good football player in HS (had college offers) if I recall so maybe he’s really only focused on baseball since college. His freshman year was the pandemic year so that may have been a relatively lost year in terms of development. So he might have really only had 4 years (2 college, 2 pro) of real, focused, traditional development. Here’s hoping that he’s gonna tap into that upside.
Yep, all this, I haven't seen any reason why he can't. SS and 3B seems like a stretch but 3B is something I could see him growing into.
I'm still hopeful that Crane is greedy and thinks he can get Geno. Really nervous about 3rd base the rest of the year. *also, seems really late for the lineups and moving lance to the IL - conspiracy theory . . . something's going down. EDIT: lineups out . . . jumping to conclusions . . . but a boy can hope . . . right?
What do you expect? Everyone is injured. They don't want to play Altuve in the OF here in Arizona and Trammell isn't going to play against a left handed pitcher. This is Chas' chance to go on a run and get more playing time - he had a solid game yesterday so needs to stack another solid game again tonight.
