I expected McCann to go to the DL when Gattis returned. Guess it was worse than I thought... they couldn't wait that long. Glad we have as much depth at Catcher as we do.
Grienke has a 6+ ERA his past 2 starts. The opponents were Dodgers and Cubs. We have an offense that can duplicate.
Good for Stassi. He's had a good year in AAA. Amazingly, this will be his 5th MLB season -- but he's never had more than 20 plate appearances in a single year. I wonder how many other offensive players have had that many literal cups of coffee?
On our way to a healthy lineup. Replace Correa with Fisher when he comes off the DL and that's our .700 club right there. Keuchel showed up yesterday, I expect a solid outing from McHugh. We might be witnessing the turnaround.
Love that they haven't freaked out about the slide and are continuing to be pre-cautionary with injuries. Vets like Harris and McCann are massively important and if they can be fresh going into September and the postseason it would be huge.
Unfortunately that hasn't exactly gone according to plan as of late. Here's to a big time turn around starting tonight, and these bats waking back up!
Greinke looking unhittable tonight ! The goodthing is he's not throwing strikes so they can get him if they are patient
The greatest of the greats are in the HOF because they threw unhittable pitches that were balls, but hitters couldn't lay off. THAT is the mark of a truly great pitcher... moreso than a pitcher that can throw 104 mph, but in the zone.
All that may be true. But if Altuve goes and looks at that AB, he will realize he shouldn't have been swinging. Many of those HOF pitchers didn't pitch in an age with instant playback and computer strike zones.
