I've yet to see the new Yankee Stadium really have a fully hyped home field advantage. Seems like their dugout seats are always half empty because of prices.

He is garbage and doesn't deserve to be on the post season roster but he didn't cost them 7 games.

You sure about that? How many blown holds did he have this year including today? I watched at least 5 additional. In fact his record is 3-5 with two blown saves. If you add in his blown holds then that could be 7.

I am sure that it is rare for an individual player to cost the team a game. For example, assume it is 0-0 in the bottom of the 9th, Gregerson gives up a 2 out HR to lose. Did he cost them the game? More than likely the lack of offensive execution as a team cost them the game. In the same vein, Keuchel has 8 losses. Did he cost the Astros 8 games?

That is true. Then if you want to go off blown saves which he had 2. We can go with the conservative number of 2 games. True fans know that Qualls is a huge liability.

In September, Qualls pitched 1/3 of an inning or more 9 times and gave up runs twice. In August, 13 times and twice gave up runs. In July, 7 times and gave up runs once. Guess I am not a true fan. I don't think he is a huge liability.

Question. What are they all chanting while they're all jumping up and down celebrating after Hinch's speech?

Multiple times I've gone into detail on Qualls stats that are more relevant like the ones you have here.. the people that want to hate will always hate.

It's because people don't often remember when a player does his job well. Most people only remember the bad outings.

I don't think losing the last game has ever felt this good.

It shouldn't feel good at all; they blew an incredible opportunity to host the WC game, which, given this team's home/away split, is significant.

it is what it is. They also lost the division lead, but that's how baseball goes. No one is entitled to a playoff berth, every team has to earn it. The Astros earned it, albeit the 2nd WC spot. Who cares. They didn't celebrate a loss or lament the loss of home field for the WC game, but rather celebrated a season where a lot of positive things happened and the Astros returned back to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years--that is worth celebrating and this team earned the right to do it. Regardless of the circumstances, it's still a major accomplishment. The team is young and loose and inexperienced. If they start becoming regular playoff contenders, then i'm sure they won't be celebrating a "loss" as hard.

They won 4 out of 6 on the road to end the season and 6 out of their last 8 overall. I don't think us fans have any right to complain about our postseason situation, just enjoy it instead of being a sour puss.

Us fans have waited 10 years to be back. We have the potential Cy on the bump, an explosive lineup, and a team that has the controllable talent to compete for many years to come. Regardless of what happens tomorrow night this is only the beginning of what could be a very special stretch of baseball in this city.

Texans ratings quadrupled the Astros ratings for the parts of the game that overlapped (for those interested in what would happen, not surprising even with the blow-out).
