The Astros that inning had a guy who can't bat lefty bat lefty, a guy who can't hit since injury hit and Castro. Just wasted an inning.
Hinch's lineup doomed us from the start. Lowrie, Rasmus, Castro and the pitcher vs. a lefty was too much dead weight. Playing Lowrie had to be the dumbest move out of all of them.
No... I'm saying players aren't going to do something they don't feel comfortable doing. These guys have been playing the game their whole lives.... its really an individual sport. Hinch isn't implementing some gameplan like in football or basketball, or coaching guys up.
Uh, ok. Are you upset that the announcing crew is now bringing it up or something? Unless Marwin has some bizarre deep-seated psychological issue with seeing the path of a ball travel from a right handed pitcher's hand towards him while he's standing on the same side of the plate, it's pure stupidity. I'd love to hear Hinch address it.
I cannot imagine that Hinch ordered Marwin to bat left handed. Just like in the 21-5 game. I think it was 17-2 and Marwin still hit left handed. Just swing right handed.
can sipp whip the bat too ?...just askin ya never know..get him a 2 run lead in the 7th and let tony do the tony for a while
Jesus this is a decent MAJOR LEAGUE ball player we're talking about... Dude is hitting well. If the alternative is an almost guaranteed out bunting from the left just go ahead and let him swing from the right. It's not quantum mechanics he's trying to master out there.
The Angels have made an incredible run...only for all of it evaporate in the waning hours of the last day.
exactly. and nothing worse than an out can happen. and you could have been taking swings at any point over the past 2 weeks in cages or with live pitching to get a little more comfortable with it.
