Qualls won the battle. He really took it to Berkman.

Qualls has been nothing short of awesome this season. One of only 4 pitchers who has appeared in 12 or more games and has a 0.00 ERA. He hasn't allowed an inherited runner to score, either (3-for-3).

Lidge has a 0.00 ERA in 11 appearances.

Qualls / lidge combo right now would be pretty killer.

Ok, now every single guy in our bullpen has had at least one pretty crappy outing this season.

Win or lose, the Astros take something good away from this game. Wesley Wright was awesome.

I guess everybody is watching the Rockets game.

The Astros have 7 hits and 5 runs through 2 and a third.

Scratch that, Cruz just SO again. 3 and two thirds.

Towles just hit a clear cut home run but the refs blew it.

Whatever the official stats say at the end of the season, add 1 HR for Towles.

Valverde was great. The only hit he gave up barely stayed in play.

brocail gets the win. it's strange that there's not more of a set formula to decide that, and it's just left up to the scorekeeper. it's also strange that the starter isnt allowed to get the win in situations like these.

What really matters is the team winning or losing.

Which pitcher gets the wins and losses only matters when it comes to awards and paychecks.

Our closer finally looks like he's back and has the fire in his eyes again. Good news.

I don't understand why Cruz is still on the team. Surely, we could find a better bat in the minors. We should convince Ausmus to retire and become a bench coach, release Cruz and bring up Quintero and another bat from the minors. Any ideas on a Cruz replacement?
