What is wrong with this team? I know the answer, but I thought they had some pride. I wonder if Garner has lost the team. Changes need to be made. They still have hope for the season, but changes need to be made and made now.

Timmy boy, it is on you.

Biggio is 1-21 versus Webb and gets a start while he is 15-35 versus Livan who starts tommarow when Biggio will likely get a day off. That makes a lot of sense.

Either Gar doesn't look at or put much stock in those types of numbers, or he just doesn't give a crap.

3 strikeouts swinging for Biggio. Great move Gar.

He wants Biggio to have 2 days off before the homestand.

So they suspected. But if that's the case, give him 3 days off. He sucks against Webb.

I have no idea if this is the case or not, but I'm pretty sure that the Astros lead the league in K-looking. If not, they have to be damn close.

Watching close pitches with 2 strikes...ugh...cardinal rule of baseball.

Decent start by Sampson. Too bad that right now our pitchers can only allow 1 run to have a chance at the win.

    Huh?

Yall were wondering, and that's the reason Gar gave. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather have seen Ensberg in there, if Scott's knee is still too gimpy.

I'm sure they don't keep track of K's looking vs. swinging. But the Astros have struck out 304 times this season. That's only 17th in the majors and is right at the league average.

I heard the broadcasters talking about it but I thought they (or some one in the truck) was speculating. I didn't know if Gar actually said it.

And as if we didn't already know. Over the last week, the Astros are dead last in Runs Scored (14), Batting Average (.225), On Base% (.278), Slugging (.316), OPS (.594), ERA (7.60), Batting Average Against (.332), and I'm sure many other categories.

Sure they do (backwards K in the scorebook), it's just not available to us.

OK then...let me rephrase ;) : they seem to take an inordinate amount of strike 3's, I'll go with K-looking percentage leading the league.

That's exactly what I was thinking, although I'm sure Gar will pinch hit Ensberg for one of the 3, probably Everett.
