Naw...for it to be devestating I think it'd have to be shocking. Sadly, this wasn't entirely unexpected. Yay for Berkman!
i dont get why garner does the same damn thing every game he never uses borkowski (who can actually get some quick easy outs) Berkman!
Willy had a tremendous first half last year... I was as giddy as anybody. But since then, take a look at his splits (when teams started defending the infield hit), and you'll notice a terrible decline... which has yet to stop this year. The bottom line is that both of them are awful hitters... and neither of them should ever bat near the top of any lineup ever (and yet one always gets a start there).
Agreed. He should at least be given an opportunity to take Qualls' place as the 7th inning setup man.
I'd be fine with House being our everyday catcher next year, with Ausmus catching Roy or Backe (or both)... hell, he could have be our 1B right now (if Lance was healthy enough to play the OF). Dude hasn't stopped hitting since he went to AAA.
Before the Arizona series last week, Qualls had an ERA of 3.22. It is now 4.19. It's jumped a full run per game in a week. That's amazing.
Wherever this sudden burst of offense has come lately, I'm liking it. And hey look, we didn't even need Tejada to do it. Wow...I just saw a pig fly! Willy T. with the HR!
