And Roy having career high ERA's, and mediocre playoff performances with Raul Chavez catching him... but gets the ERA back under 3.00 and becomes the NLCS MVP with Ausmus catching him.
even if brad ausmus was owed 100% of the credit for that, can you explain what that has to do with anything? 2 questions for you, and i'm not trying to be a smartass and would appreciate honest responses: 1: should brad ausmus be our starting catcher right now and do you at least agree that should we have done all we could to acquire a new catcher this season? 2: when on earth will we, and when do you think we should, look to move in a new direction at catcher? i am living in constant fear that on opening day 2007, there is old bradley right behind the plate.
It's been time...he useless...can we put my 3 yr old niece in to bat for Everette and just let him play the field...? BASES LOADED EVERETTE...
Ausmus should be our catcher right now: with the bread-and-butter of this team being its veteran big 3... who ALL prefer Ausmus as their catcher... you have to go with what makes our strongest asset the best. Also, where are these plethora of great catchers that are just out there waiting to be picked up? They have some decent ones in the farm, but nobody that's going to be the "missing link" to turning the year around. And if you can't develop a solid one, you shouldn't waste money on them. Were you in constant fear of that after last year? After Brad's game-tying 2 out, 2 strike HR in the NLDS may have helped light the unending fire that got this team to the world series? After basically everybody in the organization (including Garner himself) has said that he is probably the most prominent leader in the clubhouse? Ausmus is going to have a special place in Astro history regardless of what he ever does with the bat... it hillarious that you continue to make post after post complaining about Ausmus, when he's been the same type of hitter for this club since 2001 (and didn't impede any of the team's success). Did you finally get sick of it?
Oswalt having a pretty good AB... forcing the releiver to throw a ton of pitches. Willy should be taking notes on deck.
see that's why Willy is in there he gets a hit and his speed gets him to 3rd. and chris burke had been awful in the 2nd half.
they ALL prefer ausmus to who? clemens has spoken strongly about him, nobody else has. i dont understand why you all keep using that. it's gotten old. i guarantee you roy's redneck arse does not give the slightest **** who is catching him. and why the hell should the players run the team anyway?? you have now waned in your argument from him being a great defensive catcher and a solid hitter, to having now convinced yourself that the reason he should be playing is "because the pitchers say so and i hear he's a great leader". kinda weak and telling, aint it? the only waste of money is the $4 million/year that he's getting. he's the worst hitting catcher in the league bar none, and he's worked himself into the bottom 5 defensively to boot. ANYTHING is an upgrade. how our management has STILL made almost zero effort to find a replacement (either current or eventual) for him blows my mind. and no, i will never get sick of it. the mere sight of him makes me grit my teeth.
man willy t hosed him. he shouldnt have been trying for 2nd, but it should have been alot closer than that, especially with willy's momentum taking him the opposite direction. the kid does bust out the cannon every once in a while.
Willy T is having a good game tonigh with a couple of hits, an RBI, a stolen base, and now an outfield assist.
Pettitte, Roy, and Lidge have all made similar comments over the past year or two. Clemens is the only one to say "Ausmus or else", but the others have expressed very strong preferences for Ausmus.
the same people who argue everett should be out there for his defense don't want to see willy t's. Its really funny.
