you're right, but that's how it works. plus, we are a bit biased. mets have best team in nl, and their best player will naturally get consideration over lance. "weakness of surrounding players" will never factor in to the voting process.

who knows though...if he carries us to the wildcard, i'm sure he'll get strong consideration.

It really pisses me off. When are national people going to realize that Lance Berkman is one of the top players in baseball. Its the whole Houston thing, Tracy McGrady is probably the 3rd or 4th best player behind Wade and LeBron and maybe Kobe but he gets no respect, Yao Ming, same thing. Nobody respects Houston teams and players.

Wouldn't you have to qualify as a team MVP before you can be considered as League MVP...isn't the reason Beltran doing so well this year is because other players have taken the pressure off him; meaning you take those players away he probably wilts like last season. Berkman has done equal or more amongst all those guys with a whole lot less. Pujols was gone for a period so he shouldn't be an automatic.

Forget the Cards for now...we need to (still get to .500 first) catch the Reds as they're next in line in the division and hold the WC lead. But both of them losing is the best scenario. :)

Its a win-win situation... but you have to secure the wild card before you can start setting your sights on the division. Also, if the Reds continue to lose, we will be looking at the Dodgers in the wild card lead by next week.

I would just assume have the Cardinals sweep the Reds and bring them back to us, then we can go after St. Louis in head to head play.

I think being on the road for the Stros was a good thing after those loses to the D-Backs there. Do you think they will lose focus once they get to MMP ? I hope not... :(

Blame the ground crew... bad hops suck.

Also, Pettite had no business walking the seventh hitter on 4 pitches to leadoff the inning... leadoff walks have been the biggest culprit on this team's pitching staff this year.
