I feel bad for our bullpen. This should be Hampton's last start. I thought Russ Ortiz was bad but my god this guy is over the hill.

When Koyie Hill gets in on the action, it's time to pull the plug.

Sadly, the pen's worn out. So we'll get to see at least 1 more inning of this deluge...

and the amazing thing is, moehler is probably the worst of the 3.

hampton's gonna have to pitch at least 5 or 6 innings even if he gives up 50 runs. they aren't going to use norris for long relief today because of the possibility that he's starting sunday.

Can the Astros invoke a mercy rule? Jeez.

Or can we at least use these runs the Cubs scored for the ticket discount?

Derrek Lee must feel like a chump, not being able to get a hit off this guy.

Haha, so I just remembered the Astros were playing in the afternoon today.

Turn on the TV, 6-0 bottom 1st.

groan why? being serious. the perfect storm of circumstances to use a position player to pitch is a good possibility today.

If this team wants to compete, it has to fix this rotation. We have a couple of chumps who routinely throw batting practices to opposing hitters. It puts way too much pressure on the bullpen and the offense.

Hampton's only advantage is he being a good hitter. Move him to a bench role? He has been a better hitter then pitcher.

Is it safe to say we're "pretenders"?

This team is not good enough to contend and stay hot with the St Louis' and Chicago Cubs of the world. And with that, Wade should seriously look into moving Valverde and/or Tejada. Its very likely that neither will be back. Trade your expirings while you can or you risk losing them for nothing.

he's left-handed and 5'9". nowhere on the field for him to play.
