Yeah, I know. Was posted when they gave up two in the bottom of the ninth with men still on first and second, two out. Thanks for the Earth shattering info though.
You might actually want to have some suggestions before talking about how badly we need to get rid of a player. That is the difference between analysis and b****ing.
True. It seems like there is WAY too much of that going on around here lately. Is Moehler a good starter? No. Are there better available options right now? I don't think so, but I could be wrong. Cappellan looked good in ST, but has faltered at AAA.
Cappellan might be lucky if the Astros don't demote him to low-A ball the way he's pitched. On the opposite end, Bud Norris has looked pretty solid (2.61 era, 44 k's in 41.1 innings, 2 hr) and should, in theory, be the next one to get a chance. Only problem is that he isn't on the 40-man, so someone would have to be released (Russ Ortiz).
Why release Russ Ortiz when the goal is to get rid of Moehler? So we get rid of two pitchers to call up one? That doesn't seem very logical.
not saying i agree or disagree, but i'm guessing from his POV, you'd be moving moehler to ortiz' long relief slot. i could see the astros hanging around .500 and making another randy wolf-like move near the deadline, maybe for paulino. good to see our offense performing at it's best, and once again, it's insane how huge of an upgrade pudge is over ausmus. let's keep it going boys.
I would be against moving Paulino. He has shown the ability to be a very good starter, and he is young.
after an awful start after watching lance berkman look absolutely awful with all the question marks and all the suggestions right here in this forum that this team was the worst in franchise history they're only 2 games under .500 and about 5 games back of being in the middle of a 4-team pack of teams competing for the division.
Correct. Even though Moehler has looked better in his last 2 starts, if you have to make a roster move to add Norris, Ortiz is the one getting cut. IIRC, Moehler signed a 2 year deal, so the Astros aren't going to pay him for nothing when they can just let Ortiz go at a much cheaper rate.
You forgot to add: With Roy Oswalt having only 1 win. With 3 reliable relievers from last year hurt or crummy.
what? are you serious? people said that? BAHAHAHAHAHAA the team sucks. but whoever said that has forgotten the 60s and 70s. hell, half the 80s, too.
