Why? Like he said, the cubbies have a pretty good lineup.

He had several good outings early last season. He's just been particularly good against the Cubs for whatever reason.

This is a big inning for Sampson. 1 down.

Yep, he's looked decent so far. Has had a couple of really ugly ABs against lefties, though.

Huh? The cubs don't exactly have a bad lineup and it's not like Wrigley is a pitchers park. From the #5 spot, I'll take a game like this over the Royals, Pirates, Marlins, and Orioles just as much as I would against the Yankees or Red Sox.

Matsui makes that play at second.

By the way, Cooper hinted late in spring training that Pence was likely to stay at the No. 2 spot, even after Matsui returned. That said, if he keeps hitting like this, obviously that can change.

I don't recall Cooper saying anything definite on that, and according to Footer, that has already changed. It's somewhere on astros.com, I'll see if I can find it.

This is what happens when you waste opportunities which the Astros have offensively all day (and really, all week) long.

Take it easy. Sampson was brilliant today.

A couple of grounders that would usually be outs got the first two runners on.

    Good game so far.

yeah, we get runners in scoring position constantly and cant get 1 big hit, they get runners in scoring position 1 time and bring them home.

    trade caballo gordo, sign bonds.

Wiggy's crappy D really hurt us there......should have gone to 2nd base for the force out at second. Instead he takes the "safe" play and Soto's hit plates 2 instead of 1.

I am not saying the Cubs don't have a quality lineup and Sampson has pitched well today. However he has historically pitched well against the Cubs. I am not slamming Chris at all and it was the right move to jettison Woody in favor of Sampson.

Whoever you are talking about, you are overreacting and saying irrational things.

It's way too early to get like this.

Pretty much sums up your Borkowski rant from the other day.

Wrong. My comments about Borkowski date back to last season. It wasn't a knee-jerk reaction.

His comments had no rationale. Trade Lee (our most consistent offense last season) and sign Bonds???

He's pitched well against a lot of teams.
